Prince George is the largest city in Northern British Columbia. Currently, Prince George’s population is roughly 86,000 people. It is located in the center of British Columbia and is known as BC’s Northern Capital. The city itself is positioned in a large valley between the Fraser river and Nechako river. Prince George has all of the opportunities and perks of a larger city while being a smaller town. Prince George is divided into several different areas or zones including downtown, the Hart, College Heights, North Nechako, and the Bowl. Each area has different aspects which contribute to the whole area, supporting different lifestyles. These benefits include affordable housing, a large quantity of recreational activities, and shorter commutes.

Prince George is in the North Central area of British Columbia, which has four seasons of outdoor recreation activities only minutes from this community in any direction. A person could visit area lakes and streams and rivers to enjoy our beautiful outdoors or go boating or fishing. Prince George is a great family community and a sports community for all ages with playing fields for soccer, indoor and outdoor ice for hockey and swimming in the aquatic center.  There are numerous hiking trails around the city and within a short driving distance for just a couple hour walks or full day hikes like popular spot, Teapot Mountain.  The Exploration Place museum, the Two Rivers Art Gallery and the new indoor climbing gym, offer hours of indoor learning and fun.

PRINCE GEORGE HEALTH CARE

Since Prince George is in central to Northern British Columbia it is the hub of all health care in the region under the authority of Northern Health. Prince George is home to the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC), which is the largest care facility within the region which serves surrounding communities. There are family practices and specialists that reside in Prince George. There are two walk-in clinics, one at Superstore and another one at Parkwood mall. Prince George also offers cancer treatment and care at the BC Cancer Agency for the North, located beside the University Hospital Of Northern BC.
